12-hour Flying Scholarships
The Flying Scholarships provide 12 hours of Powered Flight training towards the award of a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL). The scholarship supports aspiring pilots gain further experience. Scholars undertake their training as a residential course over the course of one to two weeks to ensure consistency in their learning and to allow training as a small group with other scholars so that a fun, open learning environment can develop.
This year, the Air League will be working with the Royal Air Force Sport Aircraft Flying Schools as well as other partner organisations in the UK to deliver the flying training. We will announce further details of the partner organisations and locations soon.

Interviews for the flying scholarships will be held in March/April 2020.
Flying scholarships to be completed between May and the end of October 2020.
The flying bursary progamme offers 3-5 hours of advanced flying training to current Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL) holders as well as those yet to gain their licence who need assistance in finishing their training.
Many of our bursary winners have used their bursary funds towards night ratings, instrument ratings and tail wheel conversions.
We also welcome applications from disabled pilots who are looking to gain additional flying experience.
The bursary programme will be open for applications in early 2020.
